Atlas Lab formed in the fall of 2014 when Alex and Solei met street performing in Harvard Square. Through mutual acquaintances they solidified their lineup as a 5 piece groove oriented psychedelic indie-soul group. Lead by the velvety croon of Solei’s palpable vocal style, the music is textured and warm blending elements of ambient music with funk/soul grooves and looped vocals. The band frequently tours around the northeast, and regularly headlines/supports at Boston venues such as Davis Square Theatre, The Middle East, Thunder Road, Great Scott, and more. Atlas Lab has shared the stage with notable acts such as Madaila, Ghosts of Jupiter, Otis Grove, Akashic Record, Lewis Del Mar, and Leisure Cruise.
Atlas Lab released their first studio EP, “Wake Up Slow,” in January 2016 which was featured on the “Bandcamp Weekly” online radio show, as well as the “New and Notable” section on the Bandcamp homepage. In addition, the EP has earned press from many blogs both domestic and international.
The band is currently putting the finishing touches on a full length album set for release in Summer 2017.
